For wedding couples planning low level table decorations, do remember that you may have as many as 30 glasses on each table so try and raise your decorations slightly higher than the glasses, otherwise you loose all impact and guests do not get a 'wow' when they walk in the room. if course, don't make the centrepieces so high guests cannot see ech other across the table!

Perfect Wedding Place Cards
If you can't hire a calligrapher...always buy a few spare place cards to practice on. Ask a relative with lovely handwriting to write them for you or buy yourself a great pen. Use white or silver ink, or something glittery. Rule a very faint pencil line on the cards and write slowly. Your place cards will be gorgeous!

As a rule of thumb for wedding cake servings, fruit cakes yield double the servings as the same sized sponge cake. Likewise, square cakes yield approximately 30 percent more than the same sized round cakes.

Wedding Fruit Cakes
If you want a small piece of fruit cake for a select few guests, it's cheaper to add it to your cake order as a small cutting cake. Most wedding cake makers will only use fruit cake as a base tier, not upper layers due to weight, and this often leads to large amounts of unwanted fruit cake.
